Welcome to beauty week my sweet girls! The most asked questions I get from you all is related to beauty- from what mascara I use to my skincare routine! I am so flattered that you all want to know exactly what I am using and I cannot wait to share all my tips with you all! Each day this week I will be adding more information to this post- in the end, it will be your one stop shop for everything beauty!
Today, we are talking skincare. I thought it would be good to start there, as having a good skincare routine is key and provides the foundation for flawless makeup! Below, I have listed all my skincare products, in order, that I use!
Skin
1. Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser: This is my tried and true drugstore face wash you guys! I have been using this for 10+ years every morning and night. I love that it takes all my makeup off easily and leaves my skin with a “cooling” sensation. Obviously, you know this is good since I have been using it for a decade!
2. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion: Another drugstore winner! After I wash my face in the morning, I apply a small amount of this to my face prior to putting on my makeup. I also use this lotion all over my body after I shower as well.
3. Tula Purifying Face Cleanser: A few weeks ago, Tula reached out to me and sent me some products to try! I really like this face wash and have been using it each morning in place of the Biore wash. The Tula face wash leaves my face much softer and I love the way my skin has been looking recently!
4. Tula Hydrating Day and Night Cream: Another one of my favorites from Tula. I have been applying this cream after I wash my face and again, it is leaving my skin so soft and smooth! I think I am officially obsessed with these products!
So, lately, I have been using these two Tula products in the morning, but I am still using the Biore face wash at night as I feel like it takes off my makeup very well. Because I have been loving these Tula products so much and they have made such a difference in the quality of my skin, they were so kind to give me a discount code for my girls! If you use ‘ALEXAANGLIN’ at checkout, you will receive 20% off your entire order!! Woohooo!!! I highly encourage you to at least try their products out- you will not be disappointed and I know you will be so happy with the results! I would never steer you the wrong way girlfriend!
5. Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Rose Oil: This past winter, I was battling really dry skin on my face, so I decided to look into using an oil once daily for added hydration. Now, this product will not leave your face super oily or shiny- it dries very quickly once patted into your skin and provides amazing hydration! Such an amazing product if you have dry skin!
Dermaplanning/Shaving My Face
Have you all heard of dermaplanning? Basically, a skincare professional takes a scalpel to your face and removes dead skin, impurities, and hair. Go watch it on YouTube- it seriously is crazy how much gross stuff is on our faces! I thought about going to have dermaplanning done, but I opted to do the “at-home” version and just shave my face. Yes, you read that right…I shave my face every Sunday night. It is a part of my beauty routine! All I do is apply some shaving cream and take a new razor and shave my entire face- obviously I steer clear of the eyebrows and do not shave my nose, but I do every other part of my face. Let me tell you… talk about some smooth skin! My skin looks so bright and radiant afterwards and my makeup easily glides onto my skin. I have never had any issues with hair growing on my face crazily and I have never cut myself (thank goodness!). If you’re a little brave, I would highly recommend doing this!
Masks
1. Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask: I have tried about a bazillion and one masks in my life and always come back to this one! I usually use it after I shave my face and it has made such a difference in the size of my pores- in fact, I don’t really even see any pores on my face anymore. When you first put the mask on, you will experience a little tingling, but nothing painful. I leave it on for about 10 minutes and then wash it off! My skin looks flawless and poreless!
2. Peter Thomas Roth Hyaluronic Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches: I recently purchased these as I read that they were amazing for combating fine lines around your eyes and decreasing puffiness. Since I am balancing both a job and blogging, I spend many nights up late working on things and I haven’t been able to get as much sleep as I used to. I have been feeling like I look so tired when I wake up, so I was hopeful that these eye patches would help! I actually keep these in the refrigerator to keep them cold and let me tell you- they feel amazing when you put them on! I leave them on for 10-15 minutes and once I take them off, I am noticeably more bright-eyed and awake. I feel like my undereyes are less puffy as well!
Lashes
I have been using Latisse over the last 9-12 months to grow my lashes and I love it! It is a prescription medication, but I was able to purchase the medication directly from a local skincare center without seeing a medical professional. If you click here, you can enter your zip code and see who carries the product near you! I would suggest calling the office to see if you need to see a provider first before actually going in. For a 3 month supply, it is approximately $160-$170. For the first 3 months I would suggest using it nightly as recommended, but once you achieve the lash length you want, you can cut back your usage. I use the medication 2-3 times per week which makes my 3 month supply last more like 5-6 months.
I hope you guys enjoyed this first day of beauty week! Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns! Tomorrow, I will be covering my face makeup including foundation, concealer, contour, highlight, blush, and powder!
