Hi everyone and welcome to my home tour! This has been a highly requested post and I am so excited to share our home with you all today. A little background first- Scott and I moved into this home nearly 2 years ago and, even though we have done a lot, there is still so much we want to do! As I am sure most of you know, everything cannot be done all at once (hello budget!)- it’s a process!
Today, I am sharing our entryway, dining room, and living room- I plan on doing a separate post of our kitchen and bedroom suite soon!
Many of the items you see were purchased either online (my favorites are Joss and Main, Wayfair, Overstock, and Birchlane), at TJ Maxx/Home Goods, or at local furniture stores in Nashville. Unfortunately, because I bought many things locally, I am unable to link the exact items for you all. I have tried to link identical options, but mainly I want this post to inspire you in your own home!
Let’s get this tour started!
Entryway
We have a very small entryway that leads to the main living space straight ahead or to the dining room to the right (also, don’t mind the cords haha!). A console table, along with two lamps, help to bring the space together. Although I love this space, we have had this table for years (bought it locally) and I am looking to lighten up this area. I really like this console table here and these lamps here. A wooden accent piece hangs above the table, but I am planning on hanging some small framed prints in this space soon. Old books (found at a local antique store) help to tie this space together! Below, I have included some similar items!
Dining Room
This dining room set was literally our first BIG purchase as a married couple, so it holds a lot of memories! We bought this set from World Market and it has held up so well! Since the set is a darker color, I opted for more light-colored décor. Most of the décor in this room is from Hobby Lobby/Home Goods, but the framed prints are from a local furniture store in Franklin, TN called PD’s (if you are local, this place is a must!). The curtain rods throughout our entire home are from Lowes and the curtains are from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. The rug is from Rugs USA. Unfortunately, I am unable to link these exact items as they were purchased approximately 2 years ago and are no longer in stock. However, I linked some similar items below!
As a side note, whenever we have friends over they cannot believe that I leave this table set with place settings at all times. I personally love when a table is set because I feel like it is so elegant and adds that little “extra” factor. During the fall, I scatter mini white pumpkins throughout and around Christmas, I add festive greenery!
Living Room
Welcome to our favorite spot in our house! Our home has an open concept, so the living room and kitchen are pretty much one large space. I knew that we would be spending most of our time in this area, so it was at the top of my list to complete!
You may notice that I realllly like neutral colors- same with my clothes haha! I tend to stick to creams, tans, and beiges as far as furniture and then add in pops of green and black. Everyone tells me that once we have children we won’t be able to have furniture like this, but I am determined to prove them wrong haha! We do have a dog, but she has blonde/yellow fur, so it easily blends into this space.
The couch and bench were both amazing TJ Maxx finds- I mean, when I saw this couch it literally was calling my name. The two linen chairs are from a local store called PD’s in Franklin, TN. I said this before, but PD’s is a MUST if you live locally. Neutral-everything and very reasonably priced. The console table behind the couch and coffee table are both from Joss and Main. The lamps were purchased online from Lamps Plus and the rug is from Rugs USA. Most of the smaller decor items are from Hobby Lobby and Home Goods.
Shortly after we moved in, I had Scott paint the brick around the fireplace white- it used to be a dark, reddish/brown color (same as the outside of our home). Painting the brick white really helped to lighten up this space! We also added “faux-shiplap” along the staircase wall (again, thanks Joanna and Chip!). Scott really outdid himself with this one as he did such a great job and I was super impressed! Looking back, I think he was just really excited to buy some new power tools haha!
I linked some identical items below for those of you that are interested in recreating this look!
Now, I just want to mention that decorating this house did NOT happen overnight. It took me months to find just the right pieces for this space. It can be so tempting when you first move into a new space to hurry and decorate with things you like, but probably don’t love. My number one piece of advice is to take your time decorating a space- no one can finish a room overnight (except Joanna Gaines, she’s a boss!).
Decorating this home has been such a joy over the last 2 years! I have loved watching it transform from a empty space to our home and I cannot wait to continue adding more memories! I hope you all enjoyed this little peek into our home- it has been so fun for me and definitely something I would like to continue doing! Please let me know if you would like to continue seeing posts like this and I will certainly keep them coming! As always, thank you for reading and sharing! -A
