Hi friends! Today on the blog, I am talking about my current workout routine and showing how I incorporate the Garmin vivomove HR as a wellness monitoring tool!
The Garmin vivomove HR is a new hybrid smartwatch that allows me to track my steps, calories, distance, heart rate, intensity minutes, and VO2 max. It also has wellness monitoring tools like all-day stress tracking and a relaxation timer! I have the watch synced to my phone, so I have the ability to control music and receive notifications for incoming calls, texts, and calendar reminders. I love how stylish the watch is- I mean look how cute!
Currently, I try to workout at least 3-4 times per week. We belong to a local gym and I will usually go there for cardio- this includes intervals on the treadmill and on the stair climber. I usually start off on the treadmill and will alternate from speed 4.0 (brisk walk; for 3 minutes) to 7.0 (jogging; for 1 minute), to 8.5 (running; for one minute). After these 5 minutes, I cool down by walking for one minute and then start the intervals again. I usually do this for a total of 20 minutes and then I head over the stair climber. I usually do intervals on the stair climber as well, but I feel like there isn’t any rhyme or reason to it- I will just switch up the pace every few minutes depending on how I am feeling. I typically stay on the stair climber for 15-20 minutes and usually end up drenched in sweat haha!
A few weeks ago, I re-started the Bikini Body Guide (BBG) by Kayla Itsines. I actually did this program about 2 years ago and really enjoyed it! I felt like I saw great results and I liked that the workouts were different each day! I also liked that the routine is “circuit-style” and that you can finish in under 30 minutes. I will usually come home from the gym in the morning and do the BBG workout in our garage. I try to do BBG 3 times per week.
Just like everyone else, I do have periods where I may not work out as much- traveling, taking on extra work, and commitments can really interrupt my work out schedule. I mean, as I type this right now, I don’t think I have been to the gym in the last 2 weeks- ughh…I have to go! For me, I need to make going to the gym a priority– just wake up and GO!
Seeing my results and how much my wellness numbers climb on the Garmin vivomove HR really motivates me to continue going to the gym! I love seeing how my steps, calories, and distance skyrocket the days that I workout- makes me feel like I really am doing something good for my body to keep me healthy!
Do you all wear smart watches? What kinds of work outs do you enjoy? As always, thank you for reading and sharing! -A
