If you are anything like me, the beginning of the year marks a time when I try to reset- whether that’s eating healthier, working out more, organizing the home, or simplifying daily activities, I know many of us are trying to better ourselves this month (and hopefully throughout the entire year!)
This year, my goals include having a more structured workout schedule and figuring out a good work/life balance. Scott and I have joined a new gym here in town and I am so excited! I will be working both one-on-one and in a small group setting with a trainer (already love her!) and my goal is to get to the gym 3-4 times per week. My biggest issue with working out is making it a priority– in the past if I didn’t go to the gym in the morning, there was no way that I would go later that day. Many times I would wake up and say to myself, “I just have too much to do today and really don’t have time to make it to the gym.” By working with a trainer and having a set schedule, it forces me to be accountable and actually show up!
As far as finding a balance between work and my personal life, it is definitely something that I struggle with on a daily basis. Working as a blogger and having a presence on social media requires me to spend a lot of time on the computer or on my phone. I often feel like I am neglecting my family/husband or I am being rude for constantly being on my phone. In addition to managing every aspect of my blog (which has literally become a business for me- and I am SO THANKFUL!), I also work two days per week as a nurse practitioner. I absolutely love my job and interacting with my patients, but over the last few weeks my schedule has been insane- this leaves me very anxious and stressed. I try to stay as organized as possible, but it is certainly overwhelming at times.
This year, my goal is to create a more structured routine while I am working from home as a blogger. I feel like once I have a settled routine working from home, I will be able to get so much more work done during the day- leaving me able to spend time with my husband at night and friends/family on the weekend. I plan on having a set to-do list each day that I am working from home and hope that this alleviates some stress!
Anyways, enough about me- let’s get back to talking about affordable workout pieces! I went to Old Navy the other day and could not believe how cute their athletic wear was- and SO affordable! I did a quick try-on while I was there to make sure everything was good quality and I am here to report that I LOVED everything! The full try-on can be seen on my Instagram stories today! Old Navy has quickly become one of my go-to places for gym clothes!
I also love shopping from Nordstrom Rack for workout wear because they typically have name brand items for a fraction of the price! I love ordering sneakers from there and can typically find amazing deals!
Below, I have included some of my favorite finds from both retailers- along with a few pieces from Nordstrom. I know new gym clothes can certainly motivate me to get my booty to the gym, so hopefully this helps ya’ll too! Do you have any other resolutions this year? What are your goals?
As always, I am so appreciative of all of your support and for taking the time to read my posts! Love you all so much! -A
