As some of you may know, we are spending a long weekend in Beech Mountain, NC skiing with Scott’s family. We actually did this last year, so this will be our second time going and I am so excited! Last year was the first time I had ever been skiing and let’s just say I spent A LOT of time on the bunny slope HAHA! Although, I did take the lift up the mountain and go down one of the easier trails- took me foreverrrr because I kept stopping (pizza-ing)! I just get scared when I start going too fast (I don’t want to crash!) and end up basically doing the pizza the entire time.
I am also so excited to be spending time with Scott’s family and our nieces. It is so nice to be able to get everyone all together in one house to hang out! These are my favorites kinds of weekends!
I plan on skiing a little, but I also have plenty of work to do. Scott and I just booked our flights to Italy, so I will be spending some of the weekend planning on trip and figuring out exactly where we are staying. Funny enough- Scott’s aunt and uncle (who will be there skiing with us) are also going to Italy the exact same time as us for their 40th wedding anniversary! We didn’t even realize it until a few days ago, so I will definitely be picking their brains to see what they have planned- and hopefully we can meet up with them for some gelato!
I was surprised that so many of you requested for me to help you find ski gear- so many of ya’ll said you had ski trips coming up, so I linked a ton of my ‘must haves’ below. Scott and I bought most of our gear last year (jackets, ski pants) and I quickly realized how expensive ski equipment can be! I highly recommend investing in a good pair of ski pants, a nice jacket, and gloves. It’s also important to make sure you have base layers (top and bottom) as well as warm socks and gloves. Definitely do not want to get out there and be cold!
