Happy Friday ladies! We made it to the weekend! It is supposed to be wet and miserable here over the next few days, so we don’t have too many plans. Scott and I have been trying to refresh our outdoor space and get yard work done, but every weekend recently has been so rainy! It is killing us!
We actually have a wedding tomorrow night and are super excited about it! I’ve known the groom since we were 5 years old and the bride since high school, so it will be fun to see a lot of old friends!
I realized that my last makeup tutorial was filmed nearly 6 months ago, so I decided it was time to update it! In case you missed it, I shared a full tutorial today on Instagram stories (and it will be saved to my highlights too!). I decided to also add a blog post here on my site, in case anyone preferred to read more about the products I use and why I love them!
I wanted to also create a post here with a list of all the products I use in order that I use them:
- After washing and drying my face, I first apply this primer to help my skin look radiant and glowy.
- I apply this foundation (shade ivory beige 3N1) with this kabuki brush in circular motions all over my face- don’t forget to blend into your neck too!
- I apply this concealer (shade light natural) underneath my eyes and on any blemishes I may have. I use a dampened beauty blender to blend the product into my skin.
- Next, I set my face with this setting powder and this powder brush.
- I apply this drugstore eyeliner to my upper eyelid along my lash line- I also try to extend the line out a bit for a more ‘cat- eye’ look.
- I used to fill in my brows with this, but now my eyebrows are microbladed and I can skip this step!
- I curl my lashes with this and then I apply this mascara– I think I literally put on 3-4 coats haha! I put mascara on my top and bottom lashes.
- One of my new favorite products for spring is this eyeshadow palette– I use the mauve obsessions one and typically apply in this order: bottom middle beige color all over lids and under brow bone, mix bottom left and center color and apply to outer corners, far left middle metallic pink to center of lids, and far right top metallic pink to inner corner. In the fall and winter, I used this eyeshadow palette in the following order: latte applied all over my lids with this brush, smore applied underneath my brows with this brush, fireside applied to my crease and outer corners with this brush, flame applied with this brush to the center of my lid, and candle applied to the inner corner of my lid with this brush. Both of these palettes have such amazing colors, but for me the mauve obsessions palette works better for the spring/summer and the toasted palette works better in the fall and winter.
- I then use this liquid eyeliner and go over my liner on my top lid- this really makes my eyeliner stand out!
- I use this eyeliner to line my inside lower lid.
- Sometimes I will add another coat of mascara at this point if I feel like a lot of shadow dropped onto my lashes.
- I use this contour palette, in particular the shade havana, with this brush to contour my face. I focus the product along my hairline, my cheekbones, and jaw line. I will also try to carve out my chin by applying some product on either side of my chin (watch my instastories if this sounds confusing!).
- I apply this blush using this brush on the apples of my cheeks. I have both the color Orgasm (peachy shimmer) and Torrid (more coral in color).
- For a night out, I will also add some highlighter in the color Opal on my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, and the cupid’s bow of my lips- I use this brush!
- I use this lip liner for almost all of my lipsticks- for some reason it literally matches everything!
- The lip color I use most frequently is Salt Lyfe here (more of a neutral, everyday look)- I normally add this gloss in the color Creme Brûlée.
- I will use this brush and apply this setting powder one last time to set the whole look.
As a side note, I do wear fake lashes when I shoot photos or for special occasions. I have tried a few different ones, but always come back to these lashes– I use this glue in the black color to apply! Since we are going to a wedding tomorrow, I will film a quick little tutorial on Instagram stories for you guys!
Below, I have included all of my holy grail makeup products. I have been using 85% of these products for nearly 2 years, so I definitely can vouch for every product- they are all amazing! I also included all of the makeup brushes I use- each brush is from Sigma and I have had these brushes for years. I finally bit the bullet and bought ‘nicer’ brushes about 5 years ago and am still using them! They are amazing quality and I am so happy I finally upgraded! Sigma also has many ‘bundle’ packages of brushes that are much cheaper than purchasing each brush on its own, so make sure to keep that in mind!
