Today we are making a a yummy recipe that was sent in from Alex! My mom said she actually used to make something really similar to this when we were growing up-what I love is that you can really customize the chicken filling and add whatever you want! This recipe is also very kid friendly- I mean who doesn’t love crescent rolls with a yummy filling?! This recipe is also one that I think the kiddos would love helping with!
Crescent Chicken Bundles from Alex
Ingredients
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted, divided
- 2 tablespoons minced chives
- 2 tablespoon whole milk (we used skim)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 4 cups cubed cooked chicken
- 2 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 cup crushed seasoned stuffing (we used Italian bread crumbs)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Beat cream cheese, 2 tablespoons butter, chives, milk, salt and pepper until blended. Stir in chicken.
- Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into eight rectangles; press perforations together. Spoon about 1/2 cup chicken mixture in the center of each rectangle. Bring edges up to the center and pinch to seal. Brush with remaining butter. Sprinkle with crushed stuffing, lightly pressing down.
- Transfer to ungreased baking sheets. Bake until golden brown, 20-25 minutes.
Like I mentioned before, I really think you could add whatever you like to the chicken mixture- onions, peppers, etc.- or just keep it simple for the kiddos! You could also add in cheese too for a little something extra. I am serving this with steam broccoli, but I think a side salad would be perfect too! I hope you enjoy and have a great rest of your day 🙂
