You guys- THIS RECIPE. It’s so good and has the weirdest secret ingredient- Mountain Dew!? I know fall is all about pumpkin-everything, but let’s not forget about the sweet apples- which personally I like better anyways! This is the EASIEST recipe and comes together quickly. Such a delicious dessert that you can serve alone or with vanilla ice cream!
Country Apple Dumplings
Ingredients
- 2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and cut into wedges
- 2 cans crescent rolls, separated into triangles
- 1 cup + 2 tbsp. butter, divided
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup Mountain Dew soda
Directions
- Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish with 2 tbsp of butter (could also spray Pam, but we find the butter works better!)
- Cut apples into wedges and place one wedge in crescent roll triangle. Roll up and place in buttered baking dish- you’ll end up with 16.
- Melt butter over low heat in a saucepan. Gently stir in sugar and remove form heat. Add in vanilla.
- Pour mixture over crescent rolls and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Slowly pour Mountain Dew along the edges and just a little in between your crescent rolls- DO NOT pour Mountain Dew directly on top crescent rolls as they will get soggy.
- Bake at 350F for 45 minutes or until crescent rolls are golden brown.
- Serve alone or with ice cream!
