Over the last few weeks I have received a few emails regarding our powder bath and the mini renovation we did! I thought I would share a few before and afters along with the links for everything we used in case any of you are thinking of doing the same thing.
When we were building this home, I ultimately decided to leave our powder bath pretty simple. I honestly didn’t love the vanity options presented to us by the builder and felt like Scott and I could create a space that we loved- all while saving some money. Therefore, we asked the builder to basically use the most affordable materials in here (simple pedestal sink + hardware).
As you can see, this space was reallllly boring. No mirror and the light in the ceiling (that you can’t see) was literally a lightbulb screwed in haha! Not the prettiest space, but I had big plans.
This space is actually quite small, but I knew I wanted it to make an impression on people. I decided to opt for a more bold wallpaper (not my normal!) because I really wanted people to walk in and be wowed! I spent quite a bit of time researching wallpaper options and ultimately chose this one. I liked the metallic gold finish and the design- bold, but not too in your face in my opinion. I love the way it turned out and the glamorous design.
As far as the rest of the space, we removed the pedestal sink and replaced it with this vanity from Anthropologie. I actually thought the vanity would be lighter in color (looks lighter online), but I was really happy with how it turned out. I also liked that it had storage underneath and it’s the perfect place to store toiletries and towels. *As a side note, Anthropologie furniture does go on sale every one in a while and that is when I purchased. I believe I was able to get this 25% and definitely recommend waiting until it does on sale being purchasing. One thing to note is that the vanity did not come with the faucet, so I purchased this one from Amazon and thought it matched well. I also purchased a match towel ring and toilet paper holder.
The hanging chandelier used to actually be in my office in our old house, but I reused it here. I was a bit worried it would be too big for the space, but ultimately I think it works well. It brings quite a bit of light into this smaller, dark space and I think the beads add a little boho touch to an overall more glamorous bathroom.
I was able to source all products and linked them below!
I hope this is helpful for any of you looking to redo a space in your home. This was actually the very first room where Scott and I did a “mini” renovation, but I think it was a great space to start with! Also, seeing as this is the bathroom our guests would be using, I knew it needed to be completed asap haha! I felt like I could have a little more design fun in our powder bathroom and be more bold than normal.
Please let me know if you have any questions and as always thank you for reading! -A
