As I am sure many of you know, the Sephora sale has started! If you’re not familiar with this sale it is one of the only times Sephora offers 10-20% off site wide during the year. It is a great time to stock up on products you love or try out some new products at a discount. Here is a breakdown of who can shop the sale, when, and what discount you can expect:
Rouge members currently have access to 20% off, VIB has 15% off, and Beauty Insiders receive 10% off. It is free to be a Beauty Insider (just sign up with email here), so everyone has the opportunity to save 10%! If you’re wondering how to get into the Rouge and VIB tiers, it all has to do with how much you spend annually at Sephora- the more you spend, the higher your tier (and more savings!). Code is SAVINGS and you can use online and in store!
Okay, let’s chat makeup- most of these items I use on a pretty regular basis and honestly I don’t mix up my products too much. I have shared a full face and eye makeup tutorial in the past- all are saved to highlights, so you can easily reference back! Many of these products I have used for YEARS and they are the best (in my opinion). Just a note- I am by no means a makeup professional and I know very little. I have always enjoyed playing with makeup and watching YouTube tutorials!
As far as makeup brushes, I have this Essential Brush Set and this foundation brush– not sold at Sephora. Don’t ask me why they don’t add the foundation brush to their essential set (to me its essential haha!). I have actually been using Sigma brushes for the last 7 years or so- I absolutely love them! They are great quality and make such a difference with the application of my makeup. Definitely an investment up front, but they last forever!
I am going to list out each product in order that I used them + shade used. I typically apply my face makeup first, then eye makeup (I know that’s probably wrong), but it has been my routine for as long as I can remember and hey- it works for me!
- Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer apply with fingertips all over face; primes face for makeup and gives glowy finish to skin. I use this primer the most, but recently purchased this one from Smashbox– it definitely leaves your skin more matte and really blurs any imperfections! If you prefer more matte skin I would go with the Smashbox one; if you prefer more dewy skin I would go with the Fenty one! *Honorable mention: I also like this flawless filter from Charlotte Tillbury– you can use as a primer, mix with your foundation, or apply as a highlighter! Another great option for a dewy glow to your skin!
- BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector (shade fair/light): use fingertips to apply to under eyes; brightens look of dark circles and great base for concealer
- Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation (shade 3N1): use foundation brush and apply liquid foundation in circular motion all over face. Foundation is buildable and gives me flawless skin. In the fall/winter I sometimes will switch to shade 2N1.
- Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (shade light neutral): *not sold at Sephora* I use the shape tape concealer under my eyes and to conceal any blemishes on my face. I blend with this sponge and do not get the sponge damp. *Can use ‘Alexa’ at Tarte for 15% off purchase
- Fenty Beauty Pro Filter Instant Retouch Setting Powder (shade butter): I use the larger side of this brush to apply this loose powder all over the face to set makeup. I feel like this helps to keep everything in place, but doesn’t make your makeup settle into lines or look cakey. I will also make sure to apply this powder to my under eyes to set my concealer well.
- Tarte Bronzer (shade Park Avenue Princess): apply along hairline, cheekbones, and jawline with this brush. Really I just want the bronzer to liven up my color a bit and help provide some dimension and contour to my face. Sometimes if I feel extra pale, I may sweep some over my forehead and across my face for a little extra color.
- Nars Blush (shade Orgasm): I use the smaller side of this brush to apply to the apples of my cheeks.
- Rare Beauty Blush: I have most recently been using this blush in ‘cheer’ – it has a bit of highlight to it and looks so pretty! Anytime I wear this blush I get messages from you all!
- Charlotte Tillbury Highlighter (shade sparkling champagne): I use this brush to apply highlighter down nose to tip and along cheekbones.
- Tarte Double Take Eyeliner: I use the pencil side to line my top eyelids- I usually extend it out a bit for a winged look. When I want a more bold look, I will use the liquid side!
- Tarte Fake Awake: line my lower lids with this to make my eyes more bright- it works!
- Tarte In Bloom Palette or Tarte Toasted Eyeshadow Palette: I use the In Bloom palette a bit more as it is a great combination of neutrals- great for a daytime or nighttime look. I also really like the Toasted palette, especially for fall, as it incorporates coppers, golds, and browns. Another palette I use frequently is this Natural Nudes one- every color is beautiful! I typically use this one for special occasions or for a nighttime look.
- Anastasia of Beverly Hills Brow Wiz (shade soft brown): I use this pencil and LOVE it- makes a huge difference in my brows. I had my brows microbladed nearly 3 years ago, so there’s not much left, but I can still see where the pigment was placed. I generally just follow that shape, fill in sparse areas, and extend my brows. Check out my ‘Brows’ highlight for a tutorial. I also use this brow freeze gel and apply with these brushes.
- Revlon Lash Curler: used to curl my lashes- I focus at the base and ends
- Lancome Lash Primer: used to prime my lashes for mascara, feel like this product also adds a little extra to the tips of my lashes which makes them look longer
- Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara: love this stuff! Been using for years and haven’t found a comparable mascara.
- Charlotte Tillbury Airbrush Flawless Finish (shade 2, medium): This is the powder that I keep with me throughout the day to control shine on my face. I love the formula- not cakey and gives such a pretty flawless finish. One of my friends introduced this powder to me last year and it is the best!
- One/Size Setting Spray: This viral setting spray is what everyone is raving about! I have used it a few times when I know my makeup will be on for a long time- it’s incredible!
- Charlotte Tillbury Lip Liner (shade Pillow Talk)
- Anastasia of Beverly Hills Gloss (shade Goldy): I have been wearing this quite a bit over the last few weeks- love the color for spring and summer! I honestly have lots of lip products/colors that I love- just depends on the day and what I have with me.
- Tarte Maracujá Juicy Lip (shade rose or coconut): love this overtop my lipstick or by itself! This moisturizes, adds shine, and is long lasting!
