Fall Beauty Trends

Whether it’s the leaves slowly turning into stunning shades of red and orange; the return of a cool, familiar chill in the air; or the feeling of a fresh start ahead, there is a magic about fall that I love! I have said this before, but it is definitely my favorite season (not to mention I celebrate both my wedding anniversary and Baby Anglin will be born in November!).

Coincidentally, this seasonal shift seems to find a way to my into my beauty routine- plus the fact that summer’s humidity no longer threatens to melt my makeup off doesn’t hurt, either. The start of the fall season is a great reason to embrace an entirely new aesthetic, and fall trends — full of deep shades, metallic accents, and matte finishes.

The biggest shift in my makeup for fall is by incorporating more berry-hued, matte lipsticks into my routine. Although I love a more matte look, I struggle to find lipsticks that aren’t too drying. I came across this Mac Powder Kiss Lipstick in the color ‘burning love’ and immediately knew I had to have it in my makeup bag for fall! The weightless, moisture-matte lipstick was developed to replicate a backstage technique: blending out edges of matte lipstick for a hazy effect. The formula also contains moisture-coated powder pigments that condition and hydrate lips- which I love! The result is the zero-shine look of a matte lipstick with the cushiony, lightweight feel of a balm. It is available in a myriad of colors, but this one seemed perfect for fall!
