Well guys, it is that time of the year…holiday party time. Whether you’re just getting together with a small group of friends or going to a large-scale holiday event, it is so important to think about who is hosting the event! A lot of time, energy, and thought goes into any event, but it can be so much more stressful around the holidays with everything going on. I’ve rounded up a few of my most favorite hostess gifts for you- starting with what I am bring to Thanksgiving this year.
If you read my most recent post, you know that my husband and I will be spending Thanksgiving in Georgia with his Aunt and Uncle. We will be leaving after work on Wednesday and are so looking forward to a relaxing weekend in the mountains. His family was so kind to let us stay with them, so it is the least I can do to bring a hostess gift.
Although there are many “generic” hostess gifts (candle, wine, etc), I usually try to find a more personalized gift. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good candle or a bottle of wine, but I also try to incorporate something that is meaningful to the hostess. For example, my husband’s Aunt LOVES huge coffee mugs- that’s her thing. So, when I came across this mug at Target, I just had to get it. The mug is huge and the inside is pink (which is perfect because she works for Mary Kay!). I also went to my local TJ Maxx and found a gorgeous 3-section platter and some holiday dish towels and serving spoons.
Now, let’s talk about presentation. No need to be all fancy with your wrapping- all I did here was tie the spoons together with some gorgeous Sugar Paper Ribbon from Target and add a sprig of silver-dollar eucalyptus. Simple and pretty- now you’re done!
You can shop the mug below, as well as similar dish towels and serveware. Unfortunately, I cannot link anything from TJ Maxx as it is nearly impossible to find the exact item online, but definitely check out your local store for amazing kitchen/serving items!
In the case that you are attending an event, but do not know the hostess well, there are a range of gift ideas that universally will work well. The most obvious choice is a nice bottle of wine- dress it up with a pretty bottle holder for an extra special touch! You can also bring some pretty wine glasses like these here or here.
Holiday dish towels are also a good idea like these here or here. They are both a good neutral color, so they can pair well with anyone’s home decor. I love the idea of these mini personalized soaps– definitely a different gift, but this would be so cute with a dish towel set!
Candles are another perfect hostess gift- everyone loves them! I will be honest- I VERY rarely spend more than $15 on a candle (I get most from Bath and Body Works), so anytime I receive a “fancy” candle I just love it! I love these candles here, here, and here. I am actually planning on gifting this candle this year because it is literally the best!
Lastly, don’t forget about serving platters and utensils! Again, I try to stick to more neutral-colored items (I am a little marble obsessed- can you tell?!) as they will look so pretty in just about anyone’s home.
I linked all my favorite hostess gifts below and it’s easy to shop- just click the picture and you can shop from there! Are you guys excited for all the holiday parties? Thanks for reading and sharing! -A
