Here we go guys- it’s that time of the year!! I am sure you guys feel the same way, but Christmas is literally one of the best times of the year- spending time with family, cozying up next to the fire, drinking hot chocolate, decorating the house, the music… I could go on and on. Although it can be stressful with the gift buying and crazy traffic (I’m looking at you Nashville), overall it’s just a beautiful time of the year to be thankful for everything we have been blessed with and realize how lucky we all are!
Today, I am sharing my holiday tree with you all! For the last few years, my husband and I have always purchased a real Christmas tree, so this is the first year we decided to buy an artificial one. I have always been obsessed with flocked Christmas trees- I love the frosty look! I came across this tree here and decided to pull the trigger and buy it! We went with the 7.5 ft. tree, which seems to no longer be available, but the 6.5 ft. tree is still available at an amazing price! I have been very happy with my purchase and think it is such good quality for the price! Oh, and did I mention- it’s pre-lit! Literally, we opened the box, assembled the tree, did a little “fluffing” of the branches, plugged it in, and DONE. Basically the easiest tree we have ever put together!
Honestly, this tree really didn’t need much, as the flocking adds so much to it! You could easily get away with just putting up this tree without adding anything to it, but I am crazy and decided to add quite a bit.
First, I started with white tulle fabric from my local Hobby Lobby. In the fabric section, they have all sorts of colors of tulle. I chose white (obvi!) and asked for 3-4 yards. I came home and cut the fabric into small pieces and basically just placed it randomly throughout the tree. The tulle gives the tree and little softness and helps with hide any places where the branches were a little sparser.
Next up- the ornaments. Most of the ornaments I have purchased over time, so I have collected quite a large inventory of ornaments. In the past, I only bought ornaments in the silver/white/cream family, but this year I decided to branch out a little. Since the tree is flocked and has a lot of white in it already, I looked for ornaments in the rose gold/pink/taupe color family, as I thought that would add a nice color pop. Most of the ornaments I bought were from my local Home Goods or Hobby Lobby. I also added some white, glittery poinsettias throughout for a little extra sparkle.
My advice- try to pick a color palette and stick to it! Trying to decorate your tree with things from the same color family will create a cohesive, classic tree- no matter what color you choose! It can be overwhelming when you’re shopping for Christmas tree decorations because everything is so cute, but try to ask yourself if what you’re looking at matches the look you’re going for- if it doesn’t than don’t buy it! Most stores that I have been to have most of their holiday décor arranged by color (gold, silver, white, rustic, etc), so it has been easy for me to just go straight to the white décor and go from there.
Lastly, if you’re looking for a fabulous artificial tree- Hay Needle has got you covered. I am so happy with our purchase and know that we will be using this tree over and over for many years. In the end, this artificial tree will be saving us money since we will be using this tree for the next few years instead of buying a real tree every year.

Happy decorating everyone! I hope I was able to inspire you and give you some ideas for decorating this holiday season! As always, thank you for reading and sharing! -A
