Ever since I turned 30 this past August, I have wanted to update my skincare routine. I don’t know if it was my birthday or me noticing that my skin was aging (wrinkles, sun damage), but I knew that I wanted to make an appointment to see a skincare specialist to find out what exactly I should be using.
I planned to make an appointment at a local skincare center once I stopped nursing/pumping (I knew that many anti-aging products were contraindicated while producing milk), but COVID-19 threw a wrench into that idea. Last week, I asked you for skincare recommendations and I so appreciate all of your feedback! A lot of you mentioned @skinbyblair, so I started looking into the products she recommends- I found her ‘Key 3’ highlight very informative! I actually ended up speaking to her and she recommended this regimen below!
AM SKINCARE PRODUCTS
I linked most of the products below! Skin by Blair’s vitamin C serum can be found here (the Skinceuticals one I linked is very similar, but more $$$) and the Obagi Hydro Drops here. You guys can also use ALEXAANGLIN to get a discount off the Tula sunscreen!
*Update 6/15/20: I am still using the Revision Brightening face wash, but I now follow with the SkinCeuticals Vitamin C drops and then this moisturizer.
PM SKINCARE PRODUCTS
Most of the products are linked below- the Skin by Blair moisturizer can be found here! It is very similar to the La Mer product, but way much more affordable! I also linked the mask she recommended- I am planning on using it once a week for 20 minutes!
*Update 6/15/20: I am still using the Revision Brightening cleanser, followed by this retinol cream and then this moisturizer.
Many of you were asking about how I would describe my skin- I think I would fall into the ‘combo’ category as I feel like I have an oily T-zone, but the rest of my skin is more normal/dry. I very rarely break out and don’t have large pores. I do have quite a bit of sun spots and damage thanks to my poor choices as a teenager (tanning beds, not wearing sunscreen) and I definitely have wrinkles. My wrinkles are mainly on the side of my forehead and around my eyes when I smile.
Speaking of wrinkles, I know some of you have asked if I’ve ever received Botox. Starting around age 27, I did get Botox in my forehead and around my eyes. I think it is a personal decision if you want to have it done and for me I really liked the results! Scott DID NOT want me to get Botox as he thought I would end up looking like a crazy person, but I reassured him I would look very natural haha! I would go about every 3-4 months as that’s how long the effects would last for me, but as soon as I found out I was pregnant I stopped going. I would say my last appointment was December 2018, so it has been quite some time! Overall, I think you should do what makes you feel confident and beautiful- if that means getting Botox (or anything else for that matter) and you’re going to a reputable healthcare provider than I think that is fine!
I also wanted to include my favorite eye masks below- I use these in the morning if my under eyes feel tired or puffy- also helps diminish the appearance of wrinkles! I have shared these before on stories and lots of you recommended other Elemis products- I included the eye masks and your recs below!
I hope this information was helpful- especially for those of you who are looking to change up your skincare routine! I will keep you posted on my thoughts once I use this regimen for a longer period of time. As always, thank you for reading and I hope you have a great night! -A
