Today we are making a new (at least to me) recipe that my mom says is amazing- fish tacos! She has made this a few times at home, but this will be my first time trying them out! What I like about this recipe is that it is quick, the fish is baked (not fried), and there’s minimal mess to clean up afterwards! My mom said she serves this with Mexican rice and it is delish!
Fish Tacos
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs of white fish fillets (we used tilapia; Nina said cod is good too!)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Rub
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Tacos
- corn or flour tortillas
- avocado
- pico de gallo
- limes
- coleslaw/lettuce
- cheddar cheese
- cilantro
Sauce (Nina recommends doubling this!)
- 2 tablespoons mayo
- 3 tablespoons sour cream
- 1/2 lime, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon sriracha
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place fish on foil-lined pan and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle rub over each fillet. Bake for 20 minutes or until fish flakes.
- Once fish is cooked, flake and make your tortillas! Add whatever toppings you like and make sure to add some sauce on top!
See?! How easy is this?! No frying or making a mess! Let me tell you- this is delish! I just took bite and it is amazing! Oh, and if you want the Amazon taco stand I’ll link it here – 4 pack for $15!
As always thank you for reading and. hope you guys enjoy!
